Just when you were looking forward to getting stuck into all those new xbox games you learn the well-known Xbox red ring of fire fault. The Xbox 360 console is made in a way where all the heat made during play in the console is expelled out using heat sinks. The cooling vents allow the hot air to escape and cool air is drawn into the Xbox. If any of the systems cooling vents are covered up you will be presented with the 3 red lights problem in your Xbox 360. You would be advised to first try and get the xbox console as cool as possible and make sure to check the area around the console is free of anything that might block the air vents in the system. You could also send the Xbox 360 console back to Microsoft for repair but there is a major drawback in doing this. It can take up to 5 weeks for you to get a resolution to the problem and when you get the console back home again it will be a completely different refurbished console you get in return. This can be very inconvenient as it will mean you will be without a gaming console for a long time. You will still have to be within your Microsoft Xbox warranty period to avail of this service.
