Share this Post[?]Microsoft is sending me a box so they can fix my Xbox 360 because it barely reads discs anymore. Does anyone know how long a repair typically takes?
Share this Post[?]I heard Microsoft has fixed the red ring of death on XBOX 360 right? I just bought one and I don’t want to go through all those troubles.
Share this Post[?]I sent in my xbox to Microsoft for repairs not too long ago, but i was just wondering if anyone knew how exactly they repair the consoles?
Share this Post[?]Just when you were looking forward to getting stuck into all those new xbox games you learn the well-known Xbox red ring of fire fault. The Xbox 360 console is made in a way where all the heat made during play in the console is expelled out using heat sinks. The cooling vents allow the hot air to escape and cool air is drawn into the Xbox. If any of the systems cooling vents are covered up you will be presented with the 3 red lights problem in your Xbox 360. There are a few well known fixes for this type of error that occur in your Xbox 360.
You would be advised to first try and get the xbox console as cool as possible and make sure to check the area around the console is free of anything that might block the air vents in the system. You may have to keep the system switched of for up to 1 hour to allow it to cool down before any more play can start. Of course this may only help you for a small while as it is not a permanent fix for the red ring of death fault. You could also send the Xbox 360 console back to Microsoft for repair but there is a major drawback in doing this. It can take up to 5 weeks for you to get a resolution to the problem and when you get the console back home again it will be a completely different refurbished console you get in return. This can be very inconvenient as it will mean you will be without a gaming console for a long time. You will still have to be within your Microsoft Xbox warranty period to avail of this service.
A lot of people prefer to fix their Xbox 360 console themselves, but this involves a small DIY and is not beyond the skills of most people as long as you have the right parts and clear instructions on how to Fix Your Xbox 360.

A group of California Gamers have sued Microsoft in a class action Suit for an extremely high failure rate. The red ring of death symbolizes a general system failure. The Xbox has a 16% failure rate compared with 3% for both Play Station 3 and wii. The lawsuit states that Microsoft knew about the failures but in a cost saving go shipped them anyway. Microsoft has already extended the warranty and it has already cost them 1.15 Billion dollars
